Data protection and consent declaration for the Internet site of testtoolreview.com and testtoolreview.de

1. Subject of this data protection declaration

Thank you for your interest in our website and the offers on the websites of testtoolreview.com.
The protection of your personal data (hereafter in short “data”) is an important concern to us. We would therefore like to inform you below what data is collected during your visit to our website and the use of the services / offers provided there, and how the data is processed or used by us. We would also like to tell you about the accompanying technical and organisational protective measures that we have taken in order to protect your personal data.

2. Responsible body / service-provider

The responsible body in the sense of the German Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the service-provider in the sense of the Telemedia Act (TMG) is imbus AG. Our contact data can be found in the Imprint. Questions or remarks on this data protection declaration or on data protection in general should be directed to the e-mail address specified in the Imprint.

3. Collection and use of your data

The extent and nature of the collection and use of your data differs according to whether you visit our website only for obtaining information, register as a member or make use of other services offered by us:

a) Informational use
It is not necessary for you to provide any personal data when using our website for purely informational purposes.
In this case, we collect and use only your personal data which your Internet browser automatically transfers to our web server, such as: Data and time of the access to one of our Internet sites, your browser type, the browser settings, the operating system used, the last site visited by you, the volume of data transferred and the access status (file transferred, file not found etc.) and your IP address.
In the case of an informational visit to our website, we collect and use this data exclusively in a non-personalised form. This is done to enable the use of the Internet sites visited by you, for statistical purposes and to improve our Internet offer.

b) Use of offers and forum membership
If you would like to make use of services offered on our Internet site, such as the posting of an article in the forum or ordering a newsletter or similar, it will be necessary for you to register for this purpose as a subscriber, and then provide further data. This is a matter of data which is required for the provision of the relevant service, such as your user name and your password, which you will need in order to log in, and your e-mail address as a contact address and for sending the information for which you have subscribed (e.g. Newsletter).
Every time you log in to the forum, access data will be saved in protocol file(s), the server log and/or the log file of the respective application. The data records saved may contain the following data: Date/time of your visit to the website, the status, the browser enquiry to the server, the volume of data transferred, the referring Internet site (referrer), and the information of the browser used.

Further information may be provided voluntarily; these are marked accordingly by us on the form with which you register as a subscriber. Following registration, you can amend or delete this information at any time by means of your user account.
The collection or use of your data takes place for the purpose of providing the service you require, such as providing information or sending you the required newsletter, tailored to your wishes.
Your data may be forwarded for the above purpose to supporting service-providers, who have of course been carefully selected by us. These may be technical service-providers (e.g. Internet providers) or service-providers who assist us with programming, design and marketing (e.g. Web agencies).
Otherwise the disclosure of your data to other third parties takes place only when we are legally obliged to do so.

c) On your visit, your IP address will also be saved, and will be kept for a period of 6 months following the visit to the forum of our website in traceable form. A trace back to your person via your provider takes place only if illegal contents have been posted under your user name, or if we are compelled to defend ourselves against the claims of third parties because of your articles. Otherwise the IP address remains for us an anonymous sequence of numbers which is deleted after 6 months.

4. Newsletter

In order to be able to register for our e-mail Newsletter service, and in addition to your data protection consent, we need at least your e-mail address, to which the Newsletter is to be sent. Any other information is voluntary, and will be used to be able to address you personally and design the contents of the Newsletter for you personally, and to clarify questions about your e-mail address.
For the Newsletter dispatch, we usually use the so-called Double Opt-In Procedure, i.e. we will only send you the Newsletter if you first confirm your registration by means of a link contained in a confirmation e-mail sent to you for this purpose. In this way, we ensure that only you yourself as the owner of the specified e-mail address can register for the Newsletter. Your confirmation must be sent within 48 hours following receipt of the confirmation e-mail, since otherwise your Newsletter registration will be automatically deleted from our database.
You can cancel your Newsletter subscription at any time, either by sending us a corresponding e-mail to the e-mail address given in the Imprint, or via the link at the end of the Newsletter, or via your user account.

5. Forum registration

In order to be able to post articles in our forums, you must register in advance. A registration is required so that we can prevent illegal contents or take action against insulting or defamatory criticism. For registration in the forum, we collect the following data: e-mail address, user name.
You can use the website and the information contained in it largely anonymously. For the posting of contents and participation in the forum, we need a valid registration with postal and e-mail address, via which you will receive a confirmation link after registration. Your user name is only enabled for articles after clicking this link. In case of publication of your articles, your user name will be visible to other users.

6. Data protection and advertising consent

By setting the checkmark in the registration form of the forum and/or the Newsletter, you declare your consent to the processing of your personal data in accordance with this data protection declaration. You declare in particular your agreement that we may save your IP address, offer you contents personalised to your requirements, and store your data also outside the EU.
You also declare that you are authorised to give this personal data to us.
In addition to the provision of the required services, we would also like to offer you – only provided that you give your separate, explicit consent – an Internet site specifically directed at your interests, and occasionally send to you, by post or e-mail (in the form of our Newsletter) new information about our company, our goods and services, which on the basis of your data may be of interest to you, and use your data for the necessary evaluation and for market research purposes. It is a technical requirement for this purpose that we collate your specified data in usage profiles, and evaluate these for the above purposes. This will only take place internally and only for the above purposes.
You may give your consents separately and view them at any time in your user account. You may also revoke them at any time with effect for the future.

7. Use of Cookies

For our Internet site, we use the technology of cookies. Cookies are small text files, which in the context of your visit to our websites are sent to your browser by our web server, and stored on your computer for later retrieval.
We use only so-called session cookies (also referred to as temporary cookies), i.e. cookies which are stored only for the duration of your use of one of our Internet sites. The purpose of these cookies is to continue to identify your computer during a visit to our website when you switch from one of our websites to another, and to be able to determine the end of your visit.
The cookies are deleted as soon as you end your browser session.
You can specify yourself whether cookies can be set and called up by means of the settings in your browser. For example, you can completely deactivate the saving of cookies in your browser, restrict it to certain websites or configure your browser so that it automatically notifies you as soon as a cookie is to be set, and ask you to respond. For the complete functionality of our Internet site however, it is necessary for technical reasons to allow these session cookies.
The collection or saving of personal data in cookies does not take place in this context. We also employ techniques that combine accumulating information through cookies with user data.

8. Use of Google Analytics and other tools of analysis

It is important to us to design our Internet sites as well as possible, and to make them as attractive as possible for our visitors. For this purpose it is necessary that we know which parts appeal to our visitors and in what way. We therefore reserve the right to use Google Analytics (a web analysis service of Google Inc.), Piwik (www.piwik.org) or other tools of analysis for this purpose. These tools also use cookies, or text files, which are stored on your computer and which enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie on your use of this website is generally transmitted to and stored on server of Google in the USA. In the event of activation of the IP anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be abbreviated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other treaty states of the Treaty on the European Economic Zone. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a server of Google in the USA and abbreviated there. Google will use this information on our behalf in order to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities and to provide us as the website operator with further services associated with the website and Internet usage.
The IP address sent by your browser to Google Analytics will not be combined with any other data of Google.
You can prevent the saving of the cookies by a corresponding setting in your browser software; we would however like to point out that in this case, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to the full extent.
You can also prevent the recording of the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) by Google and the processing of this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

9. Right of revocation and objection

We would like to point out that you can at any time revoke any data protection consent given to us with effect for the future.
You can also object at any time to the creation of usage profiles by us in the context of this data protection declaration for advertising and market research purposes, and for the specific design of our websites, by contacting us at the e-mail address given in the Imprint.

10. Social media plug-ins

We also offer various social media plug-ins on the platform (e.g. for facebook or twitter). If you would like to use these, you can activate them on the platform or via your user account.

11. Date security

We use technical and organisational security measures in order to protect collected personal data, particularly against accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or against access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are continually improved in line with technological development.
The registration procedure and any ordering procedures (especially the entry of payment and credit card data), are encrypted using SSL technology in order to prevent access by unauthorised third parties during transmission.
